Google Lens Makes Almost Everything Automated

Google Lens is believed to be the future of Google which use camera as an input for the search and provide an insight of it

California, United States – Google, primarily a search engine company, announced its new product Google Lens. The company’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, made it public about Google Lens in the recent conference on May 17, 2017 to give additional information for its users. Google Lens makes the mobile cameras smarter by recognizing images and provides extra details about the images.

Google’s voice assistance is where Google Lens feature will be available for its users. It’s a well-planned out idea to leverage Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and computer vision to make it easy for vision-based computing. Google Lens will later be integrated into Google Photos, which is Google’s popular mobile photo sharing application.

It might come as a boon to people who are not familiar with the local language while traveling. It’s a given that some restaurants might have their menus in their local language and make it hard for people who are not familiar with the foreign language.

Sundar Pichai demonstrated a search-related example with a restaurant’s menu in a foreign language to Google lens. It came as a surprise for most people to see Google Lens come up with the menu’s translated version and pictures of the variety of dishes listed on their menu.

“All of Google was built because we started understanding text and web pages. So that fact that computers can understand images and videos has profound implications for our core mission,” the CEO of the search engine giant added in his introduction of Google lens.

Users will be able to understand about Google Lens by relating image search in reverse. Google lens comes in handy for a lot of things from identifying a flower to location and copying texts from an image. It saves a great deal of time by saving contact details from business cards to pulling reviews of a shop or restaurant with just a photo of the place.

Most people were fascinated by Google’s Word Lens feature, which magically transforms the foreign language text into the selected language on the phone screen. Google came up with something better as Google Goggles which lets its users learn more about a painting, barcode product, or landmark using their phone camera. Google Word Lens and Google Goggles seem more like precursors to Google Lens.

More users are moving from the traditional methods to the new advanced methods to make life simpler. Sundar Pichai has turned his focus on “Artificial Intelligence first” strategy, making it easy for users to have the best user-friendly and user experience technology.

Pichai’s Google Lens might be more than just a gimmick, it’s incorporated with the company’s most used application, Google Photos. It’s also believed that Google Lens might not be made as a separate app, it might be incorporated into its Google Assistant application.

The keynote of the Pichai’s speech at the Google I/O this year seems more promising on with the new technological advancements that will last longer than its precursors. The confidentiality of “how Google Lens works” is not made public for now by the Pichai, but most people found it to be the favorite of the Google I/O attendees.

Camera might be the input of the upcoming future generation, which is realized by the search engine giants, Google. It is sure to make life simple, fast, and fun with better automated function for its ever growing users. The user might have little or nothing to type on the keypad in the near future when almost everything works with camera and automation.
