Popular Tourist Spots in Arizona: Phoenix, Sedona, Scottsdale, Tucson

Arizona is the 48th state of the US and is the sixth largest state in the country. It shares borders with other states including California, New Mexico, Mexico, Nevada and Utah. Phoenix is the capital city and also the largest in the state. Other prominent cities are Sedona, Scottsdale and Tuscon.

There are many popular tourist destinations in the state and here are some state wise:

Phoenix: In fact, each corner of Phoenix will have something to offer to the tourists. Of these the 50-acred Desert Garden is one of the best attractions. Summer months are best to go on a trail when Flashlight tours are conducted. Heard Museum that houses exhibits related to the American Indian tribes is another must-visit spot.  Enjoy nature at the South Mountain Park, the largest city part of the US and apt for hiking, mountain biking and also horse riding.


Sedona: The Red Rock State Park on 4050 Red Rock Loop Road and spread over 286 acres has a rich collection of flora and fauna and also has interactive exhibits. The Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village is a delight with its re-creation of a typical Mexican village and it also houses restaurants, crafts shops, galleries and more. Also visit the Cathedral Rock the famous icon of Sedona and a photographer’s delight.

Scottsdale: The rugged McDowell Mountains has Taliesin West at its foot which is spread around 600 acres. The Butterfly Wonderlands 9500 E. Via de Ventura comprises a tropical rainforest which is home to thousands of different butterfly species. It also has galleries and a modern theater, all dedicated to butterflies. Do not miss a tour to the Downtown Scottsdale which is one of the best places to rewind in Scottsdale with food, drinks, strolls and shopping.

Tuscon: If you are at Tuscon, a visit to the Saguro National Park is a must. Different cactuses and lots of flora and fauna, bird species, insects and more offer a visual treat and offers great hiking trails. The Tuscon Mountain Park comprises desert landscape but is also the place where old movie studies and the desert museum are located. It is also great for adventure activities such as hiking, horseback riding and more. The Reid Park Zoo is also popular. Winters are not too harsh, and are punctuated by rainfall. Hence, taking an umbrella along would serve you well, come what weather, when you visit this city.
